General Imaging

The world of MRI is always changing and today’s patients are demanding a better, more comfortable imaging experience. Advanced Shore Imaging answers that demand for patients across Southern New Jersey. Our MRI technology, called the Optima MR450w, delivers exquisite image quality to aid in your diagnosis. It also offers you a more comfortable experience with a bore that’s 16% wider than traditional MRIs. This makes it ideal for larger individuals, children, and those prone to anxiety or claustrophobia. And the improved patient experience doesn’t stop there. Our MRI technology reduces your total exam time and delivers a cooler, quieter scanning experience. At Advanced Shore Imaging, we believe in investing in better technology for better healthcare.

Silent Scan

Typical MRI scans can reach over 100 decibels. That’s roughly equivalent to the sound of a jackhammer, a speeding freight train or what you’d hear sitting in the front row of a rock concert. For many patients, this level of noise creates additional stress and anxiety and can interfere with the communication between you and your healthcare provider. At Advanced Shore Imaging, we use Silent Scan, a revolutionary MRI technology that makes every scan as quiet as a whisper, while delivering excellent image quality for a confident diagnosis. Enjoy the silence.

Our PET/CT system is designed to deliver fast and detailed scanning while minimizing our patients’ exposure to radiation. The PET/CT scanner is a hybrid machine that combines two types of non-invasive scans – metabolic and anatomical – into one highly-sensitive image. By overlaying the two images, your care providers can make an early diagnosis and have more information regarding your treatment. We offer PET/CT scanning to diagnose conditions, evaluate treatment response, and check for disease recurrence.

Radiographs, commonly called X-rays, are medical images taken with invisible beams of radiation. Just as our personal cameras have evolved from film to digital, so has the world of X-rays. Today’s high-quality digital images can be taken instantly, enhanced, and shared with your referring doctor. X-rays give a low dose of radiation and are limited to the area of interest, making this an extremely safe diagnostic tool to evaluate many parts of the body. Our system even offers a special pediatric imaging mode, reducing radiation exposure by 20% – 35% for children and small patients.

Fluoroscopy is a study of moving body structures, similar to an X-ray “movie.” A continuous X-ray beam is passed through the body part being examined. The beam is transmitted to a TV-like monitor so that the body part and its motion can be seen in detail. Fluoroscopy, as an imaging tool, enables your physician to look at many body systems, including the skeletal, digestive, urinary, respiratory, and reproductive systems.

Ultrasound is safe, non-invasive, and radiation-free. It uses sound waves to generate an image. Ultrasound has many applications including evaluating the thyroid, pelvic and abdominal organs, evaluation of the gall bladder for gallstones. A specialized form of ultrasound called Doppler ultrasound can detect blood flow, and is helpful in detecting stenoses of the carotid arteries (blockage in the blood vessels of the neck) as well as thromboses (blood clots) in the legs. It can help determine the source of pain, swelling or infection in many parts of the body.
