Digital X-ray

Digital X-ray

X-rays are medical images taken with invisible beams of radiation. They are limited to the area of interest, making this a safe diagnostic tool to evaluate many parts of the body. X-ray is used to detect fracture, arthritis and displacement. It is also used to detect kidney stones and various abnormalities in the chest and lungs. X-ray can be done for patients up to 400 pounds. We offer a pediatric imaging mode which reduces radiation exposure by 20 to 35 % for children and small patients.

Fluoroscopy

This study creates "live" images on a monitor. It is used to observe many body systems including the skeletal, digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems. Fluoroscopy studies include Upper GI Series, Barium Swallow, Lower GI Series and Barium Enema.

Densitometry (DEXA)

The DEXA scan provides measurement of bone mineral density used to diagnose and monitor osteoporosis. Patients up to 350 pounds can have a DEXA at Advanced Shore Imaging Associates.
